Massive search ops on for missing Indian Air Force An-32



IAF in along with navy and coast guard launched a massive rescue operation to find missing An-32,which was Enroute from Chennai to Port Blair. With 29 passengers including 6 crews on board it would be one of the biggest military aviation mishaps the country faced. According to ANI one P8 I & one Dornier aircraft were launched. and 4 Indian Navy ships diverted to join in Search & Rescue operations. The aircraft left Tambaram air base at 0730 am with 29 passengers on board. The ATC lost contact 16 minutes after the take off. According to sources,the aircraft was last seen on radar at 0812am. AN-32 known to its reliablity under all conditions. Indian Airforce operates close to 100 AN-32 as of 2016.
